church resume
I’ve thought about this for a while, and I think I am going to do it. I am going to build and maintain a “church resume”. Much like you do for your work, this is a document of historical fact that contains talking points. For me, the talking points would be as much, if not more, for my memory. It may or may not be something I would necessarily show someone else - perhaps my priest, perhaps my wife. Perhaps “chronicle” might be a better word than resume.
Examples might include:
Started attending Nicholasville United Methodist Church in 5th grade - age 9 - 1976
Junior year in High School - Youth representative on Churh Council
Started attending Calvary Baptist Church (General Assembly of Regular Baptist Churchs) - Age 18 - 1986
Baptized - Age 19 - Calvary Baptist Church, Nicholasville, Kentucky
Started Local Licensed Pastor program - United Methodist Church - Age 25 - 1993
Ordained a Local Licensed Pastor - 1994
Local Pastor - Robert’s Chapel - 1994 - 1996
Performed wedding between __ and ___ 1995
Performed funeral for Linda Mounts’ mother 1996
Sunday School Teacher - First United Methodist Church - High School Class - 1997-1999 - Everette Washington
Chairman Finance Committee - First United Methodist Church - 1997-1999
Performed funeral for Albert Buffin, 1999
Performed funeral for Claristine Buffin, 2002
Performed funeral for Gabriel Davidson, 2004
Performed funeral for ___
Charismated - St. Athanasius Orthodox Church - 2003
Joined Orthodox Church - 2003
Member Mission Council - 2005-2006
I know this isn’t complete (for example, i’ve done like 9 funerals), but that is the idea.
Any other ideas?
